YER as a hardware unit: coral panel, black display, three chicken-head knobs

YER

Make room where it is actually needed. YER listens to your sidechain and takes exactly those frequencies out of this track — 32 bands, live, at zero latency.

35 € no VAT (small business, §19 UStG) · one price, no introductory offer

Windows 10/11, 64 bit. VST3 only — it runs in your DAW. No macOS, no AAX, no AU.

The YER user interface

a closer look

The YER display: decibel scale, logarithmic frequency axis, sidechain and cut curve
the display says what it is doing

Amber is the spectrum of your sidechain, cream is the cut that follows from it. Decibels down the side, frequency along the bottom — and a line of plain text when nothing is arriving on the sidechain.

The knob row of YER: freeze, low cut, amount, high cut
one knob does the work

Amount is how deep the cut goes — up to 30 dB in a band. Low cut and high cut fence off the range that may be touched at all, and freeze holds the current curve as a static EQ.

The advanced row of YER: pan, mode, attack, release, smooth, sc audition
advanced, one click below

Pan, l/r or m/s, attack, release, smooth and sc audition. The window grows downwards — the display stays where it was and nothing jumps around.

The YER header: preset window with its two arrows, undo, trial button, help and settings
presets, undo, help — in the header

Preset window with arrows, undo thirty steps deep (Ctrl+Z as well), the help switch, the settings menu — and the trial capsule, which disappears the moment your key is in.

what it’s about

A sidechain compressor pulls the whole track down when the kick lands — highs included, and you can hear that. YER pulls down only what is in the way. It takes the spectrum of your sidechain, turns it upside down and lays it into this track as a 32-band cut: the bass steps aside exactly where the kick is loud and keeps everything else. Because the analysis is measured against the sidechain’s own level, a quiet kick cuts the same shape as a loud one — amount decides how deep. Only a sidechain quieter than about −36 dBFS is deliberately cut back with its own level.

in detail

  • 32 bands from 20 Hz to 20 kHz — 3.2 per octave, the whole audible range
  • FFT analysis of the sidechain (Hann window, 75 % overlap, hop = N/4), normalised against its own level — 2048 points at 44.1 and 48 kHz, 4096 at 88.2 and 96 kHz, 8192 at 176.4 and 192 kHz
  • Zero latency: the analysis only listens, the cutting is done by 32 IIR bells
  • Up to 30 dB of cut in a band at amount 100
  • smooth spreads the cut across neighbouring bands — no comb-filter rattle
  • freeze holds the curve: a static EQ that your sidechain drew for you
  • l/r or m/s, with pan from left to right, or from mid to sides
  • low cut and high cut fence off the working range; the display shades what lies outside
  • sc audition puts the filtered sidechain on the output — you hear what YER hears
  • Interface in six languages, six factory presets, A/B, undo, scalable window, update check

the purchase, in plain words

price

YER costs 35 €, and that is the whole story: no VAT is charged (small business scheme, §19 UStG), no further costs are added, and there is no introductory price that later goes up. Seller is Ayhan Dogan (aysound) — the address is in the legal notice, how a purchase works is in the terms of sale. Payment is processed by Stripe; on your card statement the charge shows as AYSOUND.

right of withdrawal

Fourteen days to change your mind, no reason needed: right of withdrawal, model form included. There is no checkbox at checkout asking you to give it up.

licence & updates

Every update within version 1.x is free, and your licence never expires — see the YER licence. A version 2 would be a new product, with a discount for owners of version 1.

questions before you buy

I have a Mac. Can I get my money back?

Yes. YER is Windows only — VST3, 64 bit. If you bought it for a Mac, write to us: full refund, no questions.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account, and no connection to run it: your key is checked entirely on your own computer. The one thing YER does online is look at aysound.com for a newer version — at most once a day, only while its window is open, and you can switch it off in the settings menu. Nothing about you is sent along.

On how many computers may I use my key?

On the computers you work on yourself, studio and laptop included. The key is personal: passing it on is what gets a key blocked in a later version.

I lost my key.

It is in the email you got when you bought it — search your inbox for “YER”. If that email is gone, write to info@aysound.com from the address you paid with, or with your order number, and we send it again.

Is the free download a cut-down version?

No. It is exactly the same file with exactly the same features — all 32 bands, freeze, the advanced row, every factory preset, as many instances as you like. Two things wait for your key: the 2-second dropout every 45 seconds, and saving presets of your own. Loading presets, factory ones included, works in the trial too.

Do I have to route a sidechain into it?

For the real job, yes: send the kick — or the voice — to YER’s sidechain input, and YER frees those frequencies in the track it sits on. Your DAW calls that input sidechain or external in — the manual has the route for FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One and Reaper. Without one YER listens to its own track, which is a fine way to build a freeze EQ but is not what it was made for.

Can I use YER commercially?

Yes. Releases, client work, streams — all of it. There is no additional licence.
